Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Our mission is to engage the workforce and our broader community in deepening understanding of equity and inclusion, and to apply an equity lens across the daily operations of the County and the services we deliver.
We are committed to identifying and removing inequities and barriers to access and engagement whether rooted in policies, practices, attitudes, bias, or cultural messages that have limited full participation and equitable outcomes for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, people with disabilities, and other historically marginalized communities.
In April 2024, the County of Sacramento became an official member of the Government Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE), a national network of governments dedicated to advancing racial equity across jurisdictions of all sizes. Membership in GARE connects us to a peer-driven community focused on learning, sharing, and co-creating racial equity tools, strategies, and resources that strengthen our collective impact.
Together, we are building a County where equity is woven into every decision, every interaction, and every service we provide. We invite our workforce, partners, and community members to join us in this ongoing journey because lasting change happens when we move forward together.
